Italy Was the Second Largest Agricultural Producer in Europe in 2016

Italian agricultural production reach 52.902 billion euros last year

If when it comes to producing vegetables and fruit, Italy occupied the second position, the country remains the largest grapes and wine producer in the European Union, its vineyards being recognized worldwide. In 2016, Italy was the largest wine producer not only in Europe, but in the world with a production of 50 million hectoliters, 3% higher than in 2015. Italy also surpassed France in 2016 in terms of wine production and distribution. Moreover, wine is Italy’s most exported product.
